Fistula

A fistula is an abnormal connection between two body parts, such as an organ or blood vessel and another structure. Fistulas are usually the result of an injury or surgery. Infection or inflammation can also cause a fistula to form.

A high-fiber diet can be effective, along with stool softeners. In some cases, a medical procedure to remove the hemorrhoid may be needed to provide relief.

Symptoms: 

  • Skin irritation around the anus.
  • A constant, throbbing pain that may be worse when you sit down, move around, poor or cough.
  • Smelly discharge from near your anus.
  • Passing pus or blood when you poor.
  • Swelling and redness around your anus and a high temperature (fever) if you also have an abscess.
